4 Environmentally-Friendly Home Tips

The steps toward building a healthier and more environmentally friendly living space do not have to be life changing – even the smallest changes certainly make a difference. Spectrum Realty wants to ensure you are saving properly, so be cautious with your routines and make alterations where necessary. Here are 4 great and easy environmental home tips:

  1. Add Indoor Plants
Dispersing plants around your home invites a positive aroma, while also increasing air quality and adding freshness. The English Ivy is the top choice for a house plant because it is known to filter air.
  2. Utilize Reusable Bags
Reusable bags are great both for the environment and for making daily tasks easier. Using them to hold your groceries, instead of using plastic bags is more efficient because they will not break, they usually fit more product and you will not pay extra to use them. You can also carry your lunch to work every day without continuously throwing away bags.
  3. Use Less Paper
Sometimes we have to constantly print documents, which can quickly add up to a lot of paper being used and becomes very wasteful. To combat this, try printing double sided to avoid using multiple sheets. Another option is purchasing recyclable paper that can be found at local supply shops.
  4. Use Rechargeable Batteries
A lot of the daily electronics used in a home operate with batteries. This is problematic because of how quickly you have to replace those batteries with new ones. Instead of buying new batteries every few weeks, opt for a battery charger and reuse old batteries.

Make sure you are living in a safe and healthy environment! Use Spectrum Realty’s tips to make your home a little greener.
