Five Fun Things for You and Your Family to do Before Winter Ends
February 28, 2020

Spring is less than a month away, which means it won’t be long until we finally say goodbye to the cold weather and snow. Whether you enjoy staying indoors or exploring the great outdoors, the exciting things to do in the GTA are endless. Make the most out of the rest of the season and check out these five different activities you and your family can do!

  1. Snowboarding and Skiing at Mount St. Louis Moonstone Mount St. Louis Moonstone is located just north of Barrie, Ontario. It offers 36 slopes, 8 chairlifts and 3 carpets – and prides itself on accommodating everyone, from beginner skiers and snowboarders to the most advanced. New to skiing and snowboarding? Not to worry, Mount St. Louis has 150 Snow School instructors that are ready to ride with you. Don’t miss out on one of the largest family owned ski resorts in Ontario this winter!
  2. Tobogganing at Major Oaks Park You can never go wrong with tobogganing. It’s simple, exciting, and doesn’t require any training. Not to mention it’s free! Major Oaks Park in Brampton has the perfect hill to enjoy this classic winter activity with your entire family.
  3. Skating in Nathan Philips Square End the winter season on a high note by ice skating in the heart of downtown Toronto. Nathan Phillips Square is one of the city’s most celebrated attractions, and its ice rink has played an essential part in Toronto’s winter scene for decades. No skates? No problem! There are skate rentals available, as well as change room space and skating rink support facilities.
  4. Terra Lumina at the Toronto Zoo Terra Lumina is an enchanted outdoor walk through the Toronto Zoo’s grounds with immersive light displays, video projectors and interactive installations. This project is part of Montreal-based company Moment Factory’s night walk series. Times and dates vary, so be sure to plan accordingly!
  5. Get Active at Pursuit OCR Staying active during the winter can be tricky, since we tend to stay home during the cold months. Pursuit OCR is a 33,000 square-foot indoor obstacle course that includes a 20 ft giant slide, huge ball pit, monkey bars, ramps, hanging rings, drift tricycle racetrack, and so much more. Don’t let this intimidate you, Pursuit OCR is completely accessible and fun for people of all physical skill levels.
